History

Sneaky Dee's opened in 1987 as a 24-hour restaurant at 562 Bloor Street and moved to College and Bathurst in 1990. Its basement venue hosted the first Toronto Fringe Festival in 1989, and it was home to Wavelength and the Trampoline Hall lecture series until October 2009. A 2020 proposal sought to replace the building with a 13-storey condominium, and in July 2026 Councillor Dianne Saxe said she would move to have it designated a heritage site.
