YourTown.live Boston

Privacy Policy

Effective date: [Month DD, 2026]

This policy explains how [Your Town Live LLC / Benjamin Hoey d/b/a Your Town Live] ("Your Town Live," "we," "us") collects, uses and shares information when you use theriff.live, our mobile app, and our emails (together, the "Service"). Questions: [support@theriff.live].

1. What we collect

You give us:

  • Account info: name or display name, email address, password (stored hashed) or sign-in through a third-party login, and the city or cities you follow.
  • Saved activity: shows you save, cities you follow, preferences and messages you send us.
  • Newsletter: your email address and city preferences if you subscribe.
  • Merch orders: name, shipping address, email, phone (optional) and order details. Card numbers go directly to our payment processor ([Stripe]); we never see or store them.

Collected automatically:

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, links clicked (including ticket buttons), referring page, and approximate location derived from IP.
  • Precise location (optional): only if you opt in, and only while you check in or pick a city. That reading is matched to a listed show and is not stored as a trail. You can turn it off at any time.
  • Cookies, local storage and similar tech: to keep you signed in, remember settings, measure traffic, and (once enabled) show and measure ads and credit affiliate referrals. See section 4.

2. How we use it

  • Run the Service: show city event listings, keep your account and saved shows, send the emails you asked for.
  • Process and ship merch orders, and handle returns and support.
  • Measure and improve the Service, and prevent fraud and abuse.
  • Earn affiliate commissions when you buy tickets through our links (see our Affiliate Disclosure).
  • Show ads (once enabled) and measure ad performance.
  • Comply with law and enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Some ad and analytics cookies may count as "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under certain state laws. See section 6 for how to opt out.

3. Who we share it with

  • Service providers that run parts of the Service for us: hosting and database ([Vercel / Neon]), email delivery ([Zoho Mail / Resend]), sign-in ([provider]), payments ([Stripe]), merch printing and shipping ([Printful], which receives your name, shipping address and order), and analytics/ads ([Google]).
  • Ticket sellers and affiliate networks: when you click a "Tickets" button, you go to the seller's site (for example Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, AXS, Eventbrite, Etix). The seller and its affiliate network (for example Impact or Partnerize) may set cookies and learn that you came from Your Town Live. Your purchase there is governed by their privacy policy, not ours.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect rights, safety and the integrity of the Service.
  • Business transfers: if Your Town Live is merged, acquired or sells assets, information may transfer under this policy.

4. Cookies, ads and affiliate tracking

  • Essential: sign-in and security. These can't be turned off without breaking sign-in.
  • Analytics/ads (when enabled): Google tags (Google Ads conversion measurement and Google AdSense) may use cookies to show and measure ads. Google's use of data is described at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can manage ad personalization at https://adssettings.google.com and opt out of many interest-based ads at https://optout.aboutads.info.
  • Affiliate links: ticket links may pass a referral ID to the seller so we're credited for a sale. This doesn't change the price you pay.
  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some features may stop working.

5. How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is open, and deleted within [30] days of a deletion request, except where we must keep records (for example order and tax records, typically [7] years). Server logs are kept for [90] days.

6. Your choices and rights

  • Email: unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter.
  • Account: view or edit your info in your account settings, or ask us to delete your account at [support@theriff.live].
  • State privacy rights: depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and other states with consumer privacy laws), you may have the right to know, access, correct, delete, or get a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of "sale," "sharing" or targeted advertising. To make a request, email [support@theriff.live] with the subject "Privacy Request." We'll verify your request and won't discriminate against you for using these rights. [Add a "Your Privacy Choices" footer link if ads are enabled.] We honor Global Privacy Control signals where required.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child gave us information, contact us and we'll delete it. Some events listed are 18+ or 21+. Check with the venue.

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards (encryption in transit, hashed passwords, limited access). No system is perfectly secure.

9. Third-party sites

Event pages, ticket sellers, venue sites and social links are run by others. Their privacy practices are their own.

10. Changes

We'll post any changes here and update the effective date. We'll give notice of material changes by email or on the site.
