Anglin-Norcross Ltd. built the Théâtre Saint-Denis as a movie theatre in 1915, and Wikidata gives 1916 as its opening year. In the 1980s the hall changed course and has since been given over entirely to the performing arts. In May 2016 the Ville-Marie borough announced a renovation that would add a new facade revealing more of the original theatre design.
