Bio
Three Dog Night is the Los Angeles rock band formed in 1967 by singers Chuck Negron, Cory Wells, and Danny Hutton, soon joined by Jimmy Greenspoon, Joe Schermie, Michael Allsup, and Floyd Sneed. Between 1969 and 1975 the group placed 21 songs in the Billboard Hot 100 top 40, three of them at number one, often recording outside writers such as Hoyt Axton (“Joy to the World”), Randy Newman, and Harry Nilsson. JamBase noted in February 2026 that Negron had died. Sources: Wikipedia; Prekindle/Ozark Music Hall listing; JamBase.
