The Cotillion, at Kellogg and 111th Street in Wichita, opened December 7, 1960, after realtor Jad Wolf assembled 21 investors. Opening night featured the Ted Weems Orchestra on a maple dance floor. Later bills ranged from Louis Armstrong and Count Basie to the Everly Brothers, Willie Nelson, and B.B. King. The round building is about 28,000 square feet with a stated capacity of 2,000. Richard M. Leslie, one of the original investors, ran it from the mid-1960s; his son Richard Leslie sold it in March 2018 to Alex Thomas, Adam Hartke, and partners. Fire From the Gods is listed there with Sevendust and Atreyu on May 4, 2026. Sources: thecotillion.com/history; Wichita Eagle, March 8, 2018; Concert Archives.
