Wikidata gives 1991 as the opening year of the Phoenix Concert Theatre, on premises The Diamond Club had taken over in April 1984. In 2014, Sound Academy owners Lisa Zbitnew and Zeke Myers took over with Rebel nightclub partner Tony Grossi. In October 2024, Zbitnew said the venue planned to secure a new location while continuing on Sherbourne Street until 2026.
