The Star And Garter Manchester
Manchester · 18-20 Fairfield Street, Manchester M1 2QF
The Star and Garter was built in 1803 about 50 yards from where it stands now on Fairfield Street. When the railway station now called Piccadilly was expanded, the building was moved brick by brick and reopened on its current site in 1877 as the Star and Garter Hotel. It was Grade II listed on 20 June 1988, closed in the 1980s as the area declined, and reopened in 1991 as a live music venue. The Mayfield Partnership owns the building, and in 2025 Broadwick, operator of Depot Mayfield, committed to supporting its continued operation.
