The first Jam House opened here on St Pauls Square on 23 April 1999, with TV presenter and pianist Jools Holland billed as its 'support maestro'. The venue lists Chaka Khan, The Stylistics, The Specials, The Beat, Steve Gibbons, Buddy Greco and Pato Banton among the jazz, blues and rock acts it has hosted, along with Jools Holland's Rhythm & Blues Orchestra.
