Ocean Beach · 1921 Bacon St, San Diego, CA
Winston’s Beach Club, at 1921 Bacon Street in Ocean Beach, says it was founded in 1987 by Bill Winston. Scott Slaga and Michael Stifano bought it from Winston in 1998, and the room has booked local and touring bands nightly, from rock and reggae to jam, bluegrass, Latin, jazz, soul, punk, and hip-hop. In September 2026 the San Diego Union-Tribune reported that Slaga and a silent partner bought out Stifano and Edward William “Ted” Wigler and planned a rebrand, a kitchen, and an end to cover charges while keeping the club open. The new name had not been published.
