The Pabst Theater at 144 East Wells Street was built in 1895. It's the fourth-oldest continuously operating theater in the United States. Known for its opulent interior and its place in Milwaukee's German-American culture, it has hosted Sergei Rachmaninoff, Laurence Olivier, Anna Pavlova and many of today's top touring acts. It seats about 1,339 and hosts around 100 events a year. It's a City of Milwaukee landmark, a Wisconsin historical site and a National Historic Landmark.
