Strange Brew opened on January 12, 2007, at 235 Wall Street as a craft-beer bar billing itself as the Ark-La-Tex’s beer pub, with a long list of brews plus pool and darts. By 2015 owner Trey Carter had made live music a Saturday-night fixture, arguing Shreveport’s younger players needed a room, and touring acts began asking for dates. The bar has kept a calendar of bands, karaoke, and DJs alongside the beer list.
