The Stork Club on Telegraph Avenue in Oakland’s Koreatown-Northgate was a long-running dive and music room for local rock, punk, indie, and roots bands, with a bar separate from the stage, games, and a back patio. It closed in May 2020 during the pandemic. In 2022 Billy Joe Agan, co-owner of Eli’s Mile High Club, and Marc Ribak, connected to the Mosswood Meltdown festival, reopened it as Thee Stork Club. They kept live music and leaned into a deliberately gaudy, throwback drink menu.
