The Big Dipper

171 South Washington St., Spokane, WA, 99201

History

The Big Dipper is the all-ages club at 171 S. Washington Street. The Spokesman-Review and venue histories trace the name to the early 1980s in a 1913 brick building; Steve Spickard ran it as a nightly live room from 1989 to 1995, and Dan Hoerner of Sunny Day Real Estate and Dawson Hoerner revived it as a full-time all-ages venue in 2014. It is known for a bright blue front and the Ursa Nightingale mural. Concertful lists Hulder there on October 16, 2026.
