Margaritaville Resort Casino

777 Margaritaville Way, Bossier City, LA, 71111

History

Margaritaville Resort Casino is in Bossier City, across the Red River from Shreveport. Wikipedia says Vici Properties owns it, Penn Entertainment operates it, and the Margaritaville name is licensed from Jimmy Buffett. Developers Paul Alanis and William Trotter moved a Lake Charles riverboat license; Bossier Parish voters approved it in November 2011, and it opened June 15, 2013, after a one-day preview on June 13. The project cost about $205 million. The casino barge sits in a shallow pool of Red River water. It has about 26,500 square feet of gaming, roughly 1,200 slots and 50 tables, and 395 rooms in an 18-story tower.
