The Merry Widow

History

The Merry Widow, at 51 S. Conception Street, opened Oct. 15, 2015. AL.com reported the building dates to the late 1800s, housed Cliff Harris Jewelry from 1934 and later Society Lounge, was renovated after a fire in 2009, and was then used as offices before owners opened an event bar named for Joe Cain's Merry Widows of Mobile Mardi Gras. Early bookings included Pokey LaFarge and Brooks Whelan. Mobile County lists Danny Bedrosian and Secret Army there on Oct. 16, 2026, and concert calendars list a PunkNites Halloween bash on Oct. 17.
