Fairhope Brewing

History

Fairhope Brewing Company, on the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay, calls itself Lower Alabama's first production craft brewery since Prohibition. Founders including Brian Kane, his spouse, homebrewer Dan Murphy, Free the Hops president Gabe Harris, and Jim Foley brewed the first batch on Dec. 21, 2012, and opened the taproom Jan. 6, 2013, with Everyday Ale and Section Street Wheat. AL.com marked the 10th anniversary in January 2023 with Kane and Foley as managing partners. In 2023 the company added a downtown Mobile taproom.
