Jackson Convention Complex

History

The Jackson Convention Complex at 105 Pascagoula Street opened with a formal event on Jan. 14, 2009, and a public celebration on Jan. 17, after Jackson voters approved a 2004 hotel-and-restaurant tax. The Mississippi Free Press reported about 20,000 people at the public opening and a five-year path through the Legislature. Visit Jackson lists more than 330,000 square feet, a 60,000-square-foot exhibit hall, a 25,000-square-foot ballroom, ten meeting rooms, and a 382-seat theater. The building is LEED certified.
