Straight to Ale

History

Straight to Ale started in 2009, when Huntsville homebrewers including Bruce Weddendorf, his wife Jo, Dan Perry, and Colin Austin began brewing in about 500 square feet at Lincoln Mill. They moved in 2011 into the former Olde Towne brewery and, after Alabama's taproom law, built a bar and started hosting live music. In 2016 they became the anchor of Campus No. 805, the old Stone Middle School, in a 45,000-square-foot gym. The brewery's site dates the Campus 805 home to 2016. Swamp Rats (FL) play there Oct. 25, 2026.
