History
Barboza opened in May 2012 as the basement music room under Neumos at 925 E. Pike Street on Capitol Hill. The Neumos team built the 200-capacity club for artists who could not yet fill the larger room upstairs, and talent buyer Eli Anderson called it a place for artist development. Portland band Horse Feathers played the opening show after construction delays. It remains the intimate sister stage in the same Pike Street building, booking smaller local and national sets.
