History
The Rebel Lounge opened in May 2015 at 2303 E. Indian School Road, the longtime home of The Mason Jar, a rock club that ran from 1979 to 2005. Stephen Chilton of Psyko Steve Presents and partner Chucky Duffy took over the building after it had spent years as other clubs, and they renamed it for Duane Eddy’s “Rebel Rouser.” Post-metal band The Atlas Moth headlined the first show on May 20, 2015, with Gatecreeper and Take Over and Destroy. The standing-room club, under 500 capacity, books punk, indie, metal, hip-hop, and other touring and local acts.
