Polaris Hall

History

Kevin Cradock and Jim Brunberg, who also own Mississippi Studios, bought the North Star Ballroom at 635 North Killingsworth Court in 2017 and renamed it Polaris Hall. Willamette Week reported that the three-story brick building had been used as an event space since the 1920s. They kept private rentals and weddings and planned a limited concert calendar, with the first public show a Shelley Short release date on August 25, 2017. Cradock said the hall would close for about two months in early 2018 so a vaulted ceiling could be restored. The Portland Mercury quoted Jim Brunberg saying the new name was simply the Latin word for the North Star.
