Bossanova Ballroom
722 E Burnside St, Portland, OR · about 400
History
The hall at 722 East Burnside Street was built in 1907 as a Masons lodge and later ran as the Viscount Ballroom. Philip Ragaway, with partners from the Shanghai Tunnel circle, opened it as the Bossanova Ballroom in August 2004 and kept weekday dance classes alongside shows. The venue describes an 11,000-square-foot room with a ballroom, a balcony, and room for about 650 people. Rob McCorkle owned the club from 2012 to 2019, sold it to David C. Jones, and took it back in 2025, when Willamette Week reported the rebrand to Nova PDX. The address is in Buckman, and the ballroom is still the same East Burnside room.
