History

Marathon Music Works is a locally owned concert hall at 1402 Clinton Street in Nashville's Marathon Village. The building began as an early-1900s Marathon automobile plant; entrepreneurs Chris Cobb and Josh Billue, the latter also an owner of Exit/In, renovated an empty warehouse and opened the club in November 2011 with a standing capacity of about 1,500, installed sound and lights, and two large bars. The name, chosen from community submissions, honors Marathon Motor Works, which built cars there from about 1910 to 1914. The room still hosts national touring shows plus private events.
