History
3rd and Lindsley is an independent listening room at 818 Third Avenue South, just south of Broadway in Nashville. Owner Ron Brice and a partner opened it in 1991 in a former Mexican restaurant called Jose’s, after deciding the lightly financed room was worth running rather than flipping. The club’s own account says the first weekend featured the Bobby Bradford Blues Band and DeFord Bailey Jr., both of whom sold out the 220-capacity corner stage, and that early bookings included Jonell Mosser, Gary Nicholson, Jack Pearson, and Ashley Cleveland. It has long been the broadcast home of Lightning 100’s Nashville Sunday Night. In 2025 Brice announced a five-year lease extension, and the room marked 35 years in January 2026.
