History
Young Avenue Deli opened in the mid-1990s at 2119 Young Avenue in Cooper-Young. Tiger Bryant, who also owns the nearby Soul Fish Cafe, took over in 1998. Memphis Magazine described a come-as-you-are room with a long beer list, a patio, and live music, drawing neighbors and out-of-towners. A 2006 Daily News profile still had Bryant running the deli at that address after eight years.
