History

The Lodge Room is the music hall inside the Highland Park Masonic Temple at 104 N. Avenue 56, a Renaissance Revival building completed in 1923 for Masonic Lodge No. 382. Los Angeles named the temple a Historic-Cultural Monument in 1984, and it joined the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. After decades as a rental hall, the second-floor lodge room reopened as a 500-capacity concert venue on November 3, 2017, with a Puerto Rico benefit that included Ty Segall, Bleached, and Mikal Cronin. Brandon Gonzalez and Kyle Wilkerson program the shows, and the restaurant Checker Hall shares the building. The restored room books national and local concerts.
