History
Marble Bar is a live-music room at 1501 Holden Street in Detroit, just south of New Center. Metro Times reported that it opened in October 2015 in the former Detroit Eagle, a leather bar that had closed in 2010 after 25 years. The new operators moved the bar to the side, opened the floor, and finished the room with sconces, chandeliers, and marble; the grand-opening weekend included Pentagram and two Protomartyr record-release shows. The Detroit News noted an upstairs lounge and a stage tucked underneath for DJs, local bands, and touring acts. The room still books rock, punk, and long electronic nights, with a patio.
