C-Boy's Heart & Soul

2008 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX · about 200
History
C-Boy’s Heart & Soul occupies a 1937 limestone building at 2008 S. Congress Avenue that had been an auto-parts store, a dive, a flophouse, Blue Bayou by 1988, and then Trophy’s. Steve Wertheimer, of the Continental Club, rehabbed it with Clayton & Little and held the grand opening on New Year’s Eve 2013. The club is named for Louis Charles “C-Boy” Parks, longtime manager of the Rome Inn, who died in 1991. Downstairs has the stage and a patio, and upstairs is a 1950s–60s lounge. The room books blues, soul, and roots.
