The Backyard

History

The Backyard's own history says Brian Brown, Chris Cox, Russell Clay, and Chris Braziel opened the downtown room in fall 2015 at what is now 511 South 8th Street, a roughly 1,000-capacity bar, restaurant, and courtyard. The Waco Tribune-Herald reported in October 2025 that those partners sold the 10-year-old venue to Lightstream Presents. The paper and the club have named shows by Snoop Dogg, Nelly, Parker McCollum, Pat Green, and Robert Earl Keen.
