History
The New Haven Lawn Club is a private club at 193 Whitney Avenue, near Yale, founded in 1891. The first clubhouse burned in 1929; Douglas W. Orr, with detail work by William Douglas, designed the 1931 replacement, Colonial Revival with Art Moderne ornament. It was listed on the National Register in 2003. Facilities include tennis, squash, and an outdoor pool. (Wikipedia.)
