History

The Atlantic is the downtown Gainesville music bar at 15 North Main Street. A Scene Point Blank interview published November 11, 2013, with bartender and booker Tom Rankine calls it Gainesville’s longest-running music venue and says it opened in June 2004, sharing ownership with The Top, The Wooly, and Pop-A-Top. Rankine said Tony Weinbender had been booking it before Rankine took that work over, and that the room’s role in The Fest helped it draw touring punk bands. Songkick’s 2015 Fest listing puts a full day of shows at 15 N. Main, and an October 22, 2026 bill there is The Eradicator with Dfmk, Shehehe, and The Wild. (scenepointblank.com; songkick.com)
