Englewood Tavern

History

The Englewood Tavern at 4386 South Broadway is a family-owned neighborhood bar run by the Bennetts, Fraziers, and Hagans. Denver Westword reported in April 2019 that the tavern was not yet two years old and that its anniversary falls in September. The building had housed a bar since the 1950s, including Hilda’s, a biker bar called the Shadow, and, last before this, the Downstairs Bar & Kitchen, the former State Pub that Bar Rescue renamed before it closed. The room books live bands on weekends, plus karaoke and an open-mic night.
