Dan's Silverleaf

History

Dan Mojica opened Dan’s Bar on March 14, 1995, in a former shop at 109 N. Elm Street in Denton, then closed it in 2001. He and partner Rick Moore opened Dan’s Silverleaf on June 13, 2002, at 103 Industrial Street, with The Gourds on opening night. The room became a Denton stop for Americana and Texas country, booking James McMurtry, Joe Ely, Dale Watson, and local bands such as Brave Combo, alongside folk, indie, and songwriter nights. It remains a 21-and-over listening room just off the square.
