History

The Bishop, at Fourth and Walnut in downtown Bloomington under the Comedy Attic, opened in September 2009 when Stephen Westrich took over the former Cinemat video-and-music space. Bloom Magazine described it as a bar plus a separate stage room aimed at listeners between all-ages Rhino’s and the 21-plus Bluebird. It marked 10 years in 2019 and still books original local and touring acts.
