History
The Westcott Theater, 524 Westcott Street in Syracuse’s Westcott neighborhood, was built in 1919 as a movie house (later the Harvard, the Studio, and Westcott Cinema). Sam Levey and Dan Mastronardi cleared the seats, added a bar, and turned it into a concert room; shows began in 2008. Wikipedia lists capacity around 700. The venue’s own history page says a 2019 renovation added a line-array P.A., new lighting, and stage monitors. (Wikipedia; thewestcotttheater.com/about; syracuse.com, Sept. 26, 2013.)
