History
Nightclub and 21+ concert room at 400 S. First Street in downtown San Jose’s SoFA District. The building opened in 1948 as a garage and then the Gay Theatre, became the X-rated Pussycat Theater in the 1970s, and from 1989 was the F/X nightclub, later the Usual, Spy, Pete Escovedo’s Latin Jazz Club, and Angels. Corey O’Brien reopened it as The Ritz in 2015.
