The Blue Loon

History

The Blue Loon was the Parks Highway room at 2999 Parks Hwy in Fairbanks, a bar, grill, movie house, and concert stage. The News-Miner says it was first called The Crazy Loon, that Adam Wool bought it out of bankruptcy in 1997, and that bills included Barenaked Ladies, Jane's Addiction, Bo Diddley, and Snoop Dogg. Cinema Treasures says the last film was April 25, 2019, the venue closed May 6, 2019, a fire on May 16, 2019 destroyed much of it, and the building was later demolished.
