The Roxy

History

The Roxy in Clarksville, Tennessee, is the Roxy Regional Theatre on the downtown corner long used for entertainment. A 1912 Lillian Theatre burned, was rebuilt, burned again in 1945, and was replaced by the Roxy, which opened in 1947 and showed movies until 1980. Wikipedia notes the building was a location for Sheryl Crow’s “All I Wanna Do” video. Clarksville Now reported in January 2026 that the company had moved shows to a 74-seat temporary home at 114 Public Square while the Franklin Street building is redeveloped as a city performing arts center aimed at fall 2028.
