History
Wikipedia and the theater's National Register record place the Jefferson Theatre at 345 Fannin Street in downtown Beaumont. Architect Emile Weil designed it for the Jefferson Amusement Company; it opened November 14, 1927, in a Spanish-style house that seats over 1,400 and still has its Robert Morton organ. It closed in 1972, shut again in September 2000 for a $6.5 million restoration finished in 2003, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
