History
The Alberta Bair Theater opened November 13, 1931 as the Fox Theatre, an Art Deco movie and vaudeville house designed by Robert C. Reamer and financed in part by 20th Century Fox on land bought from Charles M. Bair. A local campaign saved it from a multiplex conversion; Alberta Bair, born on the site, gave the lead gift, and the restored theatre was renamed for her in 1987. It seats about 1,400 and completed a $13.6 million renovation in 2020.
