History

The Dark Room is a live-music and photography venue operated by the Kranzberg Arts Foundation at 3610 Grandel Square, inside The Grandel in Grand Center. It began in 2014 in a small storefront on North Grand Boulevard and later moved into The Grandel. The room pairs weekend shows by local musicians with rotating photography exhibits, a full bar, and catering by Michele C Catering on select nights. It hosts a free Wednesday Night Jazz Jam from 6 to 9 p.m. led by Bob Deboo, and it is the home of the foundation's Music Artist in Residence program, which pays artists a guarantee and provides backline, sound, and food.
