History
El Club is an all-ages music room at 4114 W. Vernor Highway in Southwest Detroit, in the former Mexicantown Fiesta Center. It opened in spring 2016, founded by Eric and Graeme Flegenheimer; promoter Jason Rogalewski joined as a partner in 2019. Crain’s Detroit Business reported in 2025 that Rogalewski bought out the founders and brought in Dave Zainea, of the Majestic Theatre complex, while general manager Lauren McGrier stayed on and AEG Presents took bookings without an ownership stake. The club holds about 500 people. Rolling Stone named it one of the 10 best live music venues in the United States in 2018, and its own site lists alumni from Billie Eilish and Lizzo to Danny Brown and IDLES.
