History
Ralph Ellison Plaza is the oval at Riverside Drive and West 150th Street. NYC Parks rebuilt it in 2003 from a Ken Smith design around Elizabeth Catlett’s bronze for Ralph Ellison, dedicated that year. The plaza was named for Ellison in 2021. Summer on the Hudson lists free jazz here; October 18 and 25, 2026 are the last dates of that fall series. Bring a chair. Not a ticketed club.
