The Homy Inn
1510 N Saddle Creek Rd, Omaha, NE · about 120
History
Maynard Finkle and Leo Bianchi opened the Homy Inn in 1956 at 1510 N. Saddle Creek Road, in a 1938 building that had been a water company, a steakhouse, and Drickey’s Drive-In. They wanted to call it the Homey Inn, but dropped the “e” when the letters would not fit the existing electric sign. It started as a Western-themed bar and grill serving hamburgers and chili dogs and became known for champagne on tap. Terry Finkle bought the bar from his father Maynard in 1985.
