The Brick

History

Sheri Parr bought the Crossroads bar, then called The Pub, in 1999 and renamed it The Brick in 2003. It had been a newspaper bar for the Kansas City Star newsroom across the street, and the Pubby burger dates to 1967. At 1727 McGee Street she kept cheap comfort food in front of a small stage booking live original music, from Monday bluegrass to local punk, often on three-band bills mixing a touring act with Kansas City bands.
