History

Andrew Schreck and Tommy Grozier opened The Range in 2016 in a second-floor room over the Ithaca Commons, a western-saloon bar meant to bring live music back downtown. The corner stage hosted local and touring bands, Wednesday salsa nights, and Thursday drag and burlesque under the name ThursGays. Schreck, who also owns the Westy, closed the bar for good in early August 2024, telling reporters it was not financially sustainable after eight years.
