Carmody Irish Pub

Public photo

308 E Superior St, Duluth, MN · about 120

History

Eddie Gleeson, a Duluth native who had grown up partly in Belfast, opened Carmody Irish Pub in 2006 with his friend Rick Boo, naming it for a relative, Agnes Carmody. His grandparents had run hotels and an Irish pub in Duluth, and an Irish public house had been his own longtime dream. The Superior Street room pours house beers, including an Agnes Irish Red and a Black 47 stout, and books live music, including Irish sessions, as part of bringing nightlife back downtown.
