Hotel Vegas

History

Hotel Vegas opened in March 2011 in the Salinas Building at 1502 E. Sixth Street in East Austin, a former hotel and flophouse that Charles Ferraro and Christian Moses Wills turned into a club, with Jason McNeely and Brian Tweedy joining them in 2012. The room sits next to its sister bar, the Volstead Lounge, and a backyard stage connects the two. It books garage, punk, psych, and rock most nights, and has hosted neighborhood bands as well as one-offs such as a 2014 Spoon surprise set, Gang of Four in 2015, and Os Mutantes in 2023. In March 2026 the club marked 15 years with a run of shows overlapping South by Southwest.
