The Posies

Bio

The Posies were a power-pop and alternative rock band formed in 1986 in Bellingham, Washington, by songwriters Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow, who met at Sehome High School. Their home-recorded debut Failure (1988) led to the major-label Dear 23 (1990) and the tougher Frosting on the Beater (1993) and Amazing Disgrace (1996). Auer and Stringfellow also played in a revived Big Star for many years. The Posies continued recording into the 2010s, including Solid States (2016), and ended in 2021.
