Bio

Frontier Ruckus is a Michigan band centered on the songs of Matthew Milia, formed with banjo player David Winston Jones while they were growing up in Metro Detroit. The current trio is Milia, Jones, and Zachary Nichols, who plays trumpet, musical saw, and melodica; the catalog mixes folk, alt-country, bluegrass, and jangle pop. Their debut full-length, The Orion Songbook, came out in 2008, and Deadmalls & Nightfalls (2010) was recorded in Ann Arbor at Backseat Productions. They released the double album Eternity of Dimming at the Ann Arbor Folk Festival at Hill Auditorium in 2013 and later issued On the Northline.
